A historic Rating Rank World Clubs can only be meaningful and useful if one takes into account all results of the national leagues and cups the club competitions of the six continental confederations and FIFA. Therefore only possible to establish a historical classification of Ranking World Clubs from January 1, 1991 when the Ranking World Clubs took into account all these considerations.
The period between 1872 and 1990 can be assessed only subjectively, mainly because it take references of national and international champions to establish. It follows that equipment competing for a competition that not only can be measured, either because they got their title easily or well despite suffering numerous defeats. It is simply not possible to establish a basis to match the settings of all participating clubs during the period between 1872 and 1990.
The IFFHS has decided therefore, logically, that the historic classification Ranking World Clubs is defined as of January 1, 1991 from the annual ranking of the rankings World Clubs (set annually by the December 31). Therefore be taken as the top 50 clubs each year and will be awarded 50 points to rank first down to 1 for the classified in 50 th place. The sum of scores for each club annually acumluladas decide Historical Ranking Classification World Clubs.
